About

I’m a graduate student at Brown University, pursuing a doctorate in Portuguese and Brazilian studies. Temporarily separated from my adopted home of Providence, Rhode Island, I currently live 4,700 miles away in the city of Campinas in southeast Brazil, where I am a Boren Fellow conducting dissertation research on the representation of Muslims in Brazilian culture.

My blog will document my journey abroad as well as serve as a medium to sketch my cultural observations of the Lusophone world, the United States, and beyond.
